No matter how much you take care of your teeth, it’s likely that they will lose their vibrancy and color. This could be due to daily habits, but it’s natural for your teeth to darken over time. Smile Institute offers teeth whitening options that will restore your smile to its beautiful color.
What types of teeth whitening options are available?
There are a variety of options one can take to brighten up their smile. Here at the Smile Institute we are able to provide you with in-AND-out-of-office options for whitening. From Philips Zoom to
For our home whitening system, we’ll have you come to the office to take an impression from your mouth so that we can make a custom-fitted tray to be worn over your teeth. The home whitening system includes bleaching gel that is applied in the tray and worn for a brief amount of time each day. While some results may be seen in a couple of days, it usually takes one to two weeks to see the full benefits.
Single tooth whitening
The single tooth whitening is a good option if you only have a few teeth that need restoring. Single tooth whitening is used to correct discoloration by removing the brown and yellow staining often caused by years of drinking tea, coffee, wine and smoking.
This procedure can be performed entirely at our office in one or two visits. Dr. Smith may first try a regular abrasive cleaning of the tooth. This may be followed by a bleaching process on the stained tooth or teeth. Severely stained teeth may require the use of a special whitening gel activated by light. We will carefully lighten the tooth until we achieve a near-perfect color match with your other teeth.
Teeth whitening can be accomplished in one visit to our office using Zoom whitening. The procedure can improve the color of your teeth up to eight shades. The results are long-lasting and can be stabilized by simple home bleaching two to three times a year with custom trays and gels we provide. If you plan to have composite bonding or porcelain veneers, bleaching is a good first step prior to restorative work.
